'A plea for old poetry'? Get with the times, Ju Shardlow.

Terrible article in the Guardian about the state of modern poetry:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2010/oct/02/national-poetry-day-old

The same old tired, reactionary voice declaring that nobody cares about the classics anymore (not true), and seeming to imply that this art form has somehow been diluted and debased by the influence of genre such as hip-hop, which is insulting whatever way you want to spin it. How dare people take this art form and bring it down to ground level? How dare they take it away from the disconnected and irrelevant literati?

If respecting the classics means thinking like this, then i'm writing only in textspeak from now on.

Shame on The Guardian for indulging such stupid opinions.
