I've temporarily moved to Woodberry Down in north-east London, an area undergoing rapid change and regeneration. Here there is the traffic bluster of Seven Sisters Road, gleaming new flats with clean Italian restaurants, a Sainsburys. Over the road is the Woodberry Down Memory Shop. I'm staying in a building marked for compulsory purchase and demolition; it has been that way for sixteen years. The old and the new and the in-between all stand shoulder to shoulder, for now. And there are the wetlands; reclaimed reservoirs given over to the nature of the city. It must be a great view from the upper reaches of the flats.
